Continuing from our last post, we'll look at the next 7 laws.
Law 11: Offside: If a player is in a one-on-one position with the last defending playerbeforereceiving the ball in their opponent’s half, that player is offside.
Law 12: Fouls and Misconduct: Certain actions are considered fouls and misconduct, such as kicking or attempting to kick an opponent, tripping or attempting to trip an opponent, and striking or attempting to strike an opponent. A player can get a yellow card as a warning, or a red card as an immediate ejection from the game. Striking another players face, or sliding with studs up, or any other “dangerous” actions may result in an immediate red card.
Law 13: Free Kicks: Free kicks can be either direct, from which a goal can be scored directly, or indirect, from which a goal can only be scored if the ball subsequently touches another player before it enters the goal. All free kicks are indirect unless there was kicking, punching, tripping, pushing, etc., or deliberately handling the ball.
Law 14: Penalty Kicks: A penalty kick is awarded if a player commits a direct free kick offense inside their own penalty area or off the field as part of play. It's taken from the penalty mark, which is 12 yards from the goal line.
Law 15: Throw-in: When the whole of the ball passes over the touchlines, either on the ground or in the air, it is thrown back into play from where it crossed the line by a player from the opposing team to that of the player who last touched it.
Law 16: Goal Kick: A goal kick is awarded when the whole of the ball passes over the goal line, on the ground or in the air, having last touched a player of the attacking team, and a goal is not scored.
Law 17: Corner Kick: A corner kick is awarded when the whole of the ball crosses the goal line after being last touched by a defending player.
